Shen Yun 2018 Vacation Photos (Part 2)

  • Here she stands in front of an intricately carved set of doors.
  • It took 6,000 Moroccan artists six years to finish the designs of the mosque.
  • A trip to Morocco wouldn't be complete without a trek to the desert. Tiffany takes a three-day trip to the beautiful rolling dunes of Erg Chigaga...
  • ... on the back of a camel!
  • Tiffany poses with her new dromedary friend.
  • A glimpse of the Milky Way while spending the night under the desert sky.
  • Taking a stroll down a charming cobblestone street in the city of Trenčín in western Slovakia. (Photo by dancer Betty Wang)
  • Looking down at the ruins of Trenčín Castle's fortifications from Matúš Tower. The castle, which dates back to Roman times, houses a museum of the region's history and is a National Culture Monument of Slovakia.
  • A vista of idyllic Trenčín.
  • At the edge of a cliff in Demänovská Valley, part of the Low Tatras mountain range of the Inner Western Carpathians. All who hike here are rewarded with spectacular scenery.
  • Dancer Betty Wang certainly gets a kick out of the view!
  • While driving through the Tatras, she stops to enjoy the fresh air and snap this shot.
  • Betty dances on the stage of an open-air theater in the Tatras Mountains. The biggest folk festival in the Orava region of northern Slovakia, the Podroháčsky Folklore Festival, is held here every summer.
  • Trento, population 117,000, is a sprawling city cradled within the Italian Alps. (Photo by projectionist Regina Dong)
  • In the center of the Piazza del Duomo, in Italy, the Fountain of Neptune stands. The Roman god of the sea, with his trident, watches over the bustling activity of Trento's main square.
  • Lago di Caldonazzo, the largest lake entirely in the Trentino-Alto Adige region of Italy, is particularly enchanting at twilight.
  • Depicted here is the geoglyph known as
  • No vacation to Peru is complete without a visit to the ruins of Machu Picchu, a once sophisticated mountaintop city of the Inca civilization.
  • After hiking to the top, Felix and Alex pause for a shot.
  • They also take a tour of the Salineras de Maras. These ancient salt mines were dug into the side of the Andes Mountains, making for an impressive sight.
  • Next on the itinerary, the Incan ruins of Moray. The exact purpose of these concentric terraces is unknown, but the soil used in their construction was brought from different regions of the Incan empire, and the way they were designed creates a temperature difference of up to 15°C between the top and bottom rings. Some theorize it was an ancient agricultural laboratory.
  • Felix, Alex, and Mauricio visit Taquile Island in Lake Titicaca, the largest lake in South America.
  • A view of Peru's lovely coastline from a village between Arequipa and Nazca.
  • Bassist TK Kuo travels to Bali, Indonesia. Sweeping views of the sun-drenched rice terraces of Tegalalang are sure worth the journey!
  • A colorful, vibrant street in Ubud, Bali.
  • Jukung fishing boats, also known as traditional Balinese dragonfly boats, set off early in the morning in Sanur, a quiet, laid-back seaside town in southeastern Bali.
  • Our intrepid bassist also goes mountain climbing. Mt Rinjani, an active volcano on the island of Lombok, Indonesia, is 3,726 meters (12,224 feet) above sea level. No matter, TK is up to the challenge.
  • At the summit of Mt. Rinjani.
  • The Milky Way above Mt. Bromo in East Java, Indonesia, glittering with pinpricks of light.
  • The adventures continue! Follow more Shen Yun artists on their treks across the globe this summer.
